Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ.

FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. Meets first and third Fridays every month during lunch.

WRHS’s competitive speech and debate team welcomes all students wishing to expand their public speaking skills. Team members can participate in events ranging from debate to congress to public speaking to interpretation of literature.

Local invitational tournaments attract high schools from the Colorado-Wyoming region, thus offering unique travel and social experiences. Local competitions are usually held on Saturdays. In the past, Wheat Ridges’ team has competed at Stanford University in California and Harvard in Massachusetts.

Future Farmers of America is a national and dynamic youth organization that makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success.

The WRHS Travels Club inspires the next generation of global citizens through student travel opportunities. The travel club is open to all students, and students enrolled in WRHS international trips are automatically members.

Junior Optimists International (JOI) and Optimist International is a service club that believes our youth are the future. Meetings are all designed around building strong student-led community-building activities.

LINK Crew is made up of junior and senior mentors who run freshman orientation at the beginning of the school year and maintain an ongoing relationship with their small group throughout the school year.

The Link Crew helps freshmen learn essential skills to transition smoothly to high school and have connections to the school community.

To become a Link leader, sophomores and juniors apply in the spring semester.

Last year our spring musical was “Crazy for You!,” A fun, entertaining show with awesome music, and a great opportunity to meet new people and have a chance to get involved in something in these crazy years we are living in. National Art Honor Society is a student-run organization for artists and aspiring artists to come together to create, share and enjoy each other’s company. NAHS is a nationally recognized club with more than 33,000 members nationwide and serves to get our art out into the community, whether displayed in the school, city or even internationally.

Members usually meet twice a month. Members who fulfill the requirements will receive a varsity letter in art and an official NAHS t-shirt, and seniors will graduate with an NAHS cord.

National Honor Society recognizes students who achieve outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership and service. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and are invited to join at the end of their freshman year.

National Honor Society participates in service projects throughout the year and sponsors Senior Awards Night.  Meetings are held the first Thursday of the month after school.

Juniors and seniors in Jeffco Schools have a unique opportunity to serve as high school leaders at one of the outdoor lab facilities.

This is a week-long resident experience designed to help sixth-graders become more aware of their environment.

Sources of Strength peer leaders are a diverse group of individuals who leverage their personal and collective leadership qualities, as well as their social influence in leading the charge in norming and culture change campaigns using strength-based messages to impact multiple issues including suicide.
