Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Students will receive special education support services through a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) center program for grade-level instruction. This program provides intensive support and instruction for language development, academics, hearing technology management and self-advocacy skills.
This program also provides peers to students who are deaf or hard of hearing and who may use the same mode of communication. As students’ communication skills allow them to access instruction in the general education setting, they will integrate into that setting with support as needed.
Most students will take DHH Study Skills class as one of their electives each semester. In this class, students will receive their special education-related services. Students will also learn about study skills for high school and beyond, social skills and other important life skills the students request. Students will also have the opportunity to increase their academic skills through general education classroom support.
